The technology is quite different from other motionbase technologies. The Cyberseat is compact. It is extremely quick acting, and ideal for real-time interactive games. It is powered from a standard 13 amp household socket. A built-in compressor is available to provide air at 8 bar.
Games interface to the base through a game specific software driver. Drivers for Live for Speed™ Microsoft Flight Simulator™ and Laminar Research's X-PLANE 8 are currently available with drivers for Codemasters Colin McRae Rally 2005™ and Sim Squared to be released shortly.
Cyberseat provides a windows driver to capture telemetry outputs from the game's physics engine and convert these into accelerations to drive the base. The driver maps real world physics onto the Cyberseat's motion envelope. The 3 dof (degrees of freedom) Cyberseat provides pitch and roll as well as heave.
Because the human mind does not fully integrate motion cues, the relatively limited motion provided by a motionbase can still give a very realistic simulation. That is the principle behind all the big commercial flight and driver simulators, but writing a driver is a matter of choreography and art as much as physics in creating an exciting overall experience. Unlike the rather brutal ride provided by hydraulic motionbases, the linear motors of the Cyberseat are particularly well suited to a wide variety of motions from the swooping movements of a plane to the rough and tumble of a street luge.

Live for Speed
Live for Speed™ is the ultimate online racing simulator and provides realistic physics with suberb gameplay. The physics data is fed directly into the Cyberseat to provide the most realistic feeling possible, enhancing the feel and deepening the immersion. The game is regularly updated to improve every aspect, and Cyberseat will ensure that the latest version is fully compatible. Live For Speed is regularly used to showcase Cyberseat at shows throughout Europe, offering the chance for people to experience the full immersion. Created by just three people, Live For Speed already has a huge following throughout the world, with tournaments, competitions and lots of close, fun racing. A free demo is available containing all the latest features.
Colin McRae Rally2005
Our programmers are working with Codemasters engineers to interface the next version of Codemasters Colin McRae Rally™.
Microsoft Flight Simulator Drivers
The Cyberseat windows driver uses the outputs from the Microsoft Flight Simulator™ public SDK. FS 2004 netpipes and FSX Simconnect are both supported. The choreography module of the driver driver can be configured to adjust Cyberseat's ride to the requirements of different aircraft.
RealAir Spitfire Mk XIV
The Cyberseat motionbase driver gives a RealAir feel to the FS2004 implementation of this great aircraft.
X-PLANE 8
Drivers for Laminar Research's X-PLANE 8 are also available. X-PLANE 8 was released in 2005 and is currently at version 8.3
